Carvana has launched as-soon-as-next-day vehicle delivery to Eau Claire, Wis., and Minnesota’s Mankato area.

“We’ve offered Wisconsin area residents our easy, transparent online car buying experience for nearly two years,” said Ernie Garcia, founder and CEO of Carvana. “Eau Claire provides us even more opportunity to show customers how much we believe in putting them in control of the purchase process.

“As we grow our presence in Minnesota, Mankato plays an important role in bringing our easy, transparent car buying solution to more and more customers.”

Carvana now offers as-soon-as-next-day vehicle delivery in 153 markets across the U.S.

Customers prefer to buy vehicles at a dealership, rather than online, according to a recent survey conducted by Swapalease.com, a car lease marketplace.

Fifty-one percent said they start by shopping online, while 23 percent said they visit their local dealer.  However, when asked if they would buy or lease a vehicle entirely online if given the opportunity, only 13 percent stated they would do so. The majority (49 percent) said they prefer to shop online but visit the dealership for final negotiation and paperwork, while 38 percent said they prefer to shop only at the dealership.

New Jersey’s attorney general and the state’s consumer affairs division have reached settlements in three separate investigations into alleged fraud in the auto sales industry.

The three businesses – two North Jersey auto dealers and a Cranbury-based internet seller of automotive parts and accessories – all agreed to change their business practices, pay civil penalties, and agree to binding arbitration to resolve consumer complaints in order to conclude investigations into alleged violations of the Consumer Fraud Act (CFA), and other consumer protection laws and regulations.

“New Jersey consumers deserve to get what they pay for, whether they’re spending thousands of dollars on a vehicle at a dealership or paying a couple bucks for an auto part online,” said state officials.
