CarMax, Inc. the nation’s largest retailer of used cars, announced it is partnering with, and investing in the automotive research site Edmunds.

CarMax is investing $50 million to acquire a minority stake in the company. Edmunds has been consistently recognized as one of the most trusted online resources for automotive information, and an industry leader in digital car shopping innovations.

“This strategic relationship further strengthens CarMax’s new omni-channel experience,” said Bill Nash, CarMax president and CEO, “which empowers customers to buy a car on their terms, whether completely from home, in-store, or a seamlessly integrated combination of both.

“Edmunds’ proprietary content, comprehensive automotive market insights and streamlined user experience across the car buying and selling journey will allow us to deepen our engagement with customers shopping online.”

AutoAlert has partnered with 700Credit to incorporate advanced credit prescreening capabilities into its CreditConvert solution for identifying credit-qualified customers.

CreditConvert is just one aspect of AutoAlert's platform for learning and predicting customer behavior and delivering personalized, relevant experiences.

CreditConvert is the first step to converting service-only customers into a dealership’s sold database.

A new study from Cars.com reveals that more than 62 percent of consumers actively shopping for a vehicle on its site plan to shop Black Friday deals in November.

“There are several November specials and end-of-year deals already in play, and we anticipate additional Black Friday deals to hit the week of Thanksgiving.” said Kelsey Mays, senior consumer affairs editor at Cars.com.

Mays also touts CPO vehicles for their value over new cars.

Top Black Friday deals, according to Mays, come from Chevrolet, Hyundai, Kia, Jeep and Nissan.

U.S. News & World Report has unveiled this year’s list of best Columbus Day auto deals. The list of holiday deals includes nine vehicles with excellent financing incentives. U.S. News also has the Best Lease Deals and Best Used Car Deals for October.

“September car sales were slow, and shoppers are in the driver’s seat for the remainder of 2019,” said Jamie Page Deaton, executive editor of U.S. News Best Cars. “The best deals for Columbus Day offer a mix of no-interest financing and some jaw-dropping cash back offers. Choose the right car and get the right deal, and you’ll save thousands.”

Columbus Day car deals are available on these 2019 vehicles: Chevy Bolt, Chrysler Pacifica, Ram 1500, Nissan Altima, GMC Sierra 1500, Lexus LC, Dodge Challenger, Kia Stinger and Hyundai Elantra.
