$100 Million Settlement Reached in Dealership, CDK Global Antitrust Lawsuit

CDK Global LLC and Dealership Class Plaintiffs have reached a settlement agreement in the antitrust class action lawsuit, In re: Dealer Management Systems Antitrust Litigation, MDL No. 2817, 18-cv-00864 (N.D. Ill.). CDK Global has agreed to pay $100 million to the group of Dealership Plaintiffs that bought Reynolds and/or CDK DMS tech from September 1, 2013 through August 15, 2024. The lawsuit involves 1,000s of automotive dealerships nationwide. 

The settlement, approved by an Illinois federal court at the end of August, will resolve all remaining claims on behalf of dealerships effected by the alleged conspiracy by CDK and Reynolds to charge unlawful prices in the markets for Dealer Management System Services and Data Integration Services and to eliminate competition among vendors that need to access dealer data to create apps for dealers. Beginning this week, Dealerships will receive notice of the CDK Settlement and can log onto the DMS antitrust class action settlement website to file a claim. 

The deadline to file a claim to get a payment from the Settlement Funds is January 9, 2025Dealership Counsel and the Settlement Administrator are providing no cost assistance to dealerships to file their claim forms.
