Ford Recalls Massive Number of F-150s

Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2014 F-150 vehicles. A loss of signal between the transmission output shaft speed sensor and the powertrain control module can cause the transmission to unexpectedly downshift into first gear, regardless of vehicle speed.

The NHTSA campaign number is 24V444000.

The potential number of units affected is 552,188.

Dealers will update the powertrain control module software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 1, 2024. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 24S37.
