A test-drive in Spokane, Wash., became an alleged kidnapping and police pursuit that ended in a crash and an injured officer, according to police.

The suspect, 32-year old Kasandra Ayala, was charged with kidnapping, taking a motor vehicle without permission, and several counts of assault.

Spokane police received a call from an employee at Dave Smith’s Nissan on Aug. 24. He told police that he was on a test drive with a couple and the driver was refusing to return the car to the lot or let him out of the vehicle.

Police stated the employee stayed on the phone and continued to update the location of the car. Spokane Police Department patrol units located the vehicle and tried to pull it over. The victim said the driver told him she wasn’t going to pull over, and he thought she was going to harm him.

Police attempted to block the car, but the suspect continued, struck three patrol cars, and was brought to a stop when a sergeant used his vehicle to strike the fleeing vehicle.
