Toyota Recalls 2022 Tundra Models

By Staff Writer July 25, 2022

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing is recalling certain 2022 Tundra and Tundra Hybrid vehicles equipped with a Panoramic View Monitor system. Incorrect programming of the parking-assist electronic control unit software may cause the front camera image to appear on the multimedia display instead of the rear camera image when the shifter is placed into reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, “Rear Visibility.”

The NHTSA campaign number is 22V501000.

The potential number of units affected is 31,428.

Dealers will reprogram the parking assist ECU, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 27. Toyota's number for this recall is 22TA07.
