OSHA Announces Jan. 4 Vaccine Deadline

By Staff Writer November 07, 2021 346

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration will require that employers with 100 or more employees ensure that each of their workers is fully vaccinated against COVID-19, or test for COVID-19 on a weekly basis. The OSHA rule also requires that employers provide paid time for employees to get vaccinated and ensure all unvaccinated workers wear a face mask in the workplace.

The requirement states that employees need to have their final vaccination dose by Jan. 4, 2022. The same deadline now also applies to federal contractors. The new OSHA requirement is intended to preempt any state requirements relating to the issue.
