IARA Member Loses Cancer Battle

The International Automotive Remarketers Alliance announced that IARA member John William Tamminga of Hamilton, Ontario died on July 17.

He was 36.

Tamminga battled liver cancer over several months, according to a GoFundMe page created by Al Coulas.

“For the many work colleagues that have enjoyed his humor, laughter, constant positive attitude, and musical performances, and the many dealers he has assisted and supported over the years who would wish to contribute to his familiy’s care, I would invite you to give what you can,” Coulas stated on the GoFundMe page.

Tamminga, who was national remarketing manager at FCA in Canada, is survived by his wife Melanie; his children, Joseph, Mackenzie and Jacob; his parents, Peter Tamminga and Mary Tamminga; his siblings, Peter, Felicity, Andrew, Jessica and Rebecca Tamminga; his parents-in-law, Phil and Sue Smid; his siblings-in-law, Heather, Mike Vandenbeukel, Jeremy, Jannyne Smid, Esther and James Brouwer; and his grandparents, John, Corrie Tamminga and Trudy Smid (Folkert Smid).

A funeral was scheduled for July 22 at 11 a.m. at the Maranatha Free Reformed Church in Ontario, Canada.
