In Illinois, DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin announced an adult and juvenile have been charged with burglary and theft of a 2018 red Ferrari convertible, valued at more than $250,000, from Continental Motor Sports on May 17. RaJohn Stewart, 24 and a Cook County juvenile have been charged with multiple felony counts in the alleged theft.

On May 17, at approximately 2:21 a.m., Hinsdale Police Department patrol units responded to an activated burglar alarm at Land Rover/Jaguar of Hinsdale Auto Dealership. Upon their arrival, officers found a broken window in an overhead garage door with glass inside. While investigating, officers were dispatched to another alarm at Continental Motor Sports, officers found a broken window at the dealership and a running 2018 red Ferrari convertible driven outside of the service bay into the rear lot. It is alleged that when officers encountered an individual with a crowbar next to the padlock on the rear gate, the individual ran to and entered a nearby car and fled the scene. It is alleged that a Hinsdale squad car made contact with the fleeing vehicle and disabled it at which time three individuals fled the vehicle on foot. It is further alleged that one of the fleeing men, later identified as the juvenile, exited the vehicle with a gun in his hand. After a brief foot pursuit, the juvenile and Stewart were taken into custody. Following a search of the area, officers located a 9 mm pistol and a thirty-round extended 9 mm magazine.

Stewart’s next court date is scheduled for June 4, 2021 for arraignment in front of Judge O’Hallaren Walsh. The juvenile’s next court date is scheduled for May 26, for a status hearing in front of Judge Jacobs.
