OVDA Pushes for Vehicle Industry Board

By Staff Writer April 12, 2021

Legislation pushed by The Oregon Vehicle Dealers Association would establish the Oregon Vehicle Industry Board to replace the current Oregon Dealer Advisory Committee.

The legislation, House Bill 3324, was introduced by Rep. Paul Evans (R-20). It would transfer the duties, functions and powers of the state Department of Transportation related to regulation of the vehicle dealers and dismantlers to the proposed board to become operative in 2022.

The association is encouraging dealers to look at the bill and hopes it will “jump start a larger internal industry conversation on whether an industry board is a more effective form of governance for the vehicle industry in Oregon.”
