Ford Issues New Explorer Recall

By Staff Writer November 10, 2020

Ford has issued a recall for 350,000 of its three-row 2013-17 Ford Explorer SUVs. This recall is to inspect the suspension and issue a possible follow-up repair.  This repair follows a previous recall on the same Ford Explorers. Owners dealing with the new recall may experience a fracture of the outboard section of the rear suspension toe link, increasing the risk of a crash.

Dealers will complete a torque inspection of the cross-axis ball joint and replace it as necessary. Both repairs will be done for free. Ford has not announced the date when recall notifications will be sent out to owners.
