NHTSA redesigns the safety app SaferCar

By Staff Writer September 03, 2020

According to the The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration one in four cars on the road has a safely recall that has not been repaired leading to less safe roads. In an effort to keep drivers safe the NHTSA has redesigned their recall app SaferCar.

The app released last week allows users to register their cars, then checks for recalls and will notify them if a recall has been announced. The NHTSA describes the app as a virtual garage, where a user can add multiple vehicles and related equipment like tires, tech, car seats and trailers. SaferCar also allows users to access the NHTSA's 5-Star Safety Ratings, child car seat finder and to report safety problems.
