One of the main topics was the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), a 1991 law that today covers a lot of uses of what we call phones. This includes texting and Redbox was recently sued for text marketing that plaintiffs’ attorneys claim was spam. The law firm Davis Wright Tremain writes, “It is no exaggeration to say that hardly a week goes by without another new TCPA class action complaint being filed.”

Make sure that one of these weeks the suit is against you. Know the law.
