You've Got a Name Featured

You have a name BB&T SunTrust. It’s SunTrust. It describes where you mostly operate (the Sun Belt) and what you want people to do (trust you). It has positive connotations. You don’t need a new name because of the merger. BB&T is a lousy name. It worked because of decades of goodwill, but otherwise it sounds like Monopoly railroad. Truist is just plain stupid.

About 25 years ago, an entire industry arose made up of consultants who come up with stupid names and lame logos. It’s time to put these people out of business.
