Matt Arias has been appointed the new General Manager at Mid Kansas Auto Auction. The announcement was recently made by Mark Ottely, auction owner and president.
“We are pleased to welcome Matt Arias to the Mid-Kansas Auto Auction,” said Ottley. “He brings a deep understanding of the remarketing industry and auction operations to his role as General Manager. He is recognized as an industry expert in vehicle arbitration procedures, inspections, reconditioning, operations management and resource optimization, which will make him invaluable to our auction team.”
Arias launched his auction career in 1999. He spent many years at Manheim. America’s and ADT auction groups. He is an experienced negotiator, mediator and arbitrator. He was the long-standing co-chair of the NAAA Auction Standards and IARA Standards Committees and was instrumental in establishing the NAAA Standards classes which take place at various auction locations around the country. He holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees, including Harvard Law’s Program of Negotiation.

Mid Kansas Auto Auction was founded by Ottley who started the auction business in 2005 in Hays, Kan. In 2017 he acquired the Wichita location, completely renovating the facility to its current state-of-the art operation on 20+acres.

Industry executive search firms TPC Management and Auction Management Solutions both assisted the auction in the recruitment of Arias as General Manager.
