Here's one way to address the growing shortage of auto technicians: start your own school. According to the Commercial Appeal, "Memphis auto dealers have bought a vacant car dealership building to house a new school for automotive technicians." The local ADA is buying the dealership from AutoNation and will work with William R. Moore College of Technology to run the program.
This is an issue facing the entire industry. Incoming NAAA President Warren Clauss is also making education a focus of his term. These are steps in the right direction.
