Really, how can a company that makes money from ID theft protection and that has in fact ginned up fears about that crime, become the victim of a massive cyber break-in. The upside of this is maybe people will take a longer look at how fragile our ID system really is. Social Security numbers were meant to identify who gets a government pension. Driver's licenses are meant to prove a person can drive legally. A mother's maiden name is the name a woman had before she was married.
We need a better system.
