Toyota Recalls Hybrids for Fuse Issues

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing is recalling 39,915 2012-15 Prius Plug-in Hybrid vehicles. The hybrid battery contains a fuse that may fracture after repeated high-load driving conditions such as climbing long hills.Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will replace the EV fuse, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin Jan. 8. Toyota's number for this recall is H0R.

Ford Recalls Transits for Tow Issues

Ford Motor Co. is recalling 65,206 2015-17 Ford Transit vehicles equipped with a trailer tow module. Water can enter the tow modules and corrode the wiring causing issues such as rapidly flashing turn signals, loss of instrument panel display, an electrical short and possibly the deployment of seatbelt pretensioner.Ford will notify owners, and dealers will add a drainage hole in the driver's door stepwell and incorporate a fuse into the vehicle's wiring harness, free of charge. Interim notices informing owners of the safety risk and an interim repair are expected to be mailed in November. Owners will receive a second notice when the remedy becomes available. Ford's number for this recall is 17S34.

Nissan Recalls Versas for Spring Corrosion

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling 1,117 2012 Versa Hatchback vehicles that were sold or ever registered in the District of Columbia, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin. 
Road salt may corrode the front coil springs; possibly resulting in the coil springs fracturing. 
Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will replace both front coil springs, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin Nov. 27.

Indian Motorcycles Co. is recalling 2,096 2017-18 Chief, Chief Classic, Chief Dark Horse, Chief Vintage, Chieftain, Chieftain Classic, Chieftain Dark Horse, Chieftain Elite, Chieftain Limited, Springfield, and Springfield Dark Horse motorcycles. These motorcycles may be equipped with a European-market, not U.S.-market, halogen headlight assembly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."Indian will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the motorcycle and replace any incorrect headlight assembly, free of charge. Mercedes-Benz Recalls Vehicles for Axles

Mercedes-Benz USA LLC is recalling 2,098 2015-16 C63 AMG, 2015-17 C63S and 2017 C63S AMG Coupe and C63 AMG Cabrio vehicles. The rear axle differential mounting flange may fracture from repeated aggressive launches.MBUSA will notify owners, and dealers will update the vehicle's stability system software and chassis control unit software, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in December.

Ford Recalls More Than 1 Million Trucks

Ford Motor Co. is recalling 1,101,107 2015-2017 Ford F-150, and 2017 F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty trucks. The doors on these vehicles may have a bent or kinked actuation cable or the door latches may freeze after water gets into the latch. Either condition can result in the doors opening while driving although they appear to be closed.Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the door latch actuation cables and repair if necessary, and install water shields over the door latches, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin Nov. 13.

Toyota Recalls Minivans That Might Roll Away

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing is recalling 310,475 2005-2007 and 2009-2010 Toyota Sienna vehicles. In the affected vehicles, due to a problem within the shift lock assembly, the shift lever may be moved out of the 'Park' position without depressing the brake pedal.Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will replace the shift lock solenoid and reapply the grease, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin Dec. 1. Toyota's number for this recall is H0V. Vehicles that were previously recalled under campaign 13V-429 are not affected by this recall.

Volkswagen Recalls SUVS for Fuel Leaks

Volkswagen Group of America Inc. is recalling 73,941 2004-2007 Touareg vehicles. These gasoline-powered vehicles have a fuel filter flange that may crack, allowing fuel to leak.Volkswagen will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the fuel filter flange for cracks, replacing the flange if cracks are found. If no cracks are found, a protective cover will be installed onto the filter flange. These repairs will be performed free of charge. Parts are not currently available, but owners will be notified of the recall beginning November 19, 2017. A second notice will be sent when remedy parts become available. Volkswagen's number for this recall is 20Ai.
