Mercedes Recalls Vehicles for ESP Issues

Mercedes-Benz USA LLC is recalling 8,043 2016-17 G550 4Matic, G63 AMG, and G65 AMG vehicles. A malfunction of the Electronic Stability Program, while Distronic Plus is engaged, may cause the engine to not reduce power, regardless of the vehicle's speed, driving situation or brake application. MBUSA will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the ESP control unit software, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin this month.

Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. is recalling 2,383 2017-18 ZR900AH, ZR900BH and ZR900BJ motorcycles. The rear shock absorber tie-rod frame mount holes can become elongated if the rear shock absorber bottoms out, affecting the operation of the shock absorber.KMC will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the tie-rod mounting hole and replace the bracket or frame depending on the extent of the elongation of the tie-rod mounting hole, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. KMC's number for this recall is MC17-04.

BMW of North America LLC   is recalling 32,000 2014-18 BMW i3 electric and hybrid electric vehicles. Unbelted, small adult drivers may be at a higher risk of neck injury in the event of a frontal crash. These vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."BMW will notify owners. The remedy for this recall is still under development. The recall is expected to begin Jan. 8.

Honda Recalls More Than 800,000 Minivans

American Honda Motor Co. is recalling 806,936 2011-17 Honda Odyssey vehicles. The second row outboard seats can slide sideways to one of two positions. If a seat is placed between either of the two positions when attaching the seat to the vehicle floor, the seat will not latch properly to the seat striker, allowing the seat to tip forward unexpectedly during braking.The remedy for this recall is still under development. Honda will notify owners of the safety risk in an interim notification and provide detailed instructions for installing/positioning the second row outer seats and confirming that they are securely latched. Once a final remedy is determined and the necessary parts are available, Honda will send a second letter to owners to have them visit a dealer to have the condition remedied, free of charge. The interim notification is expected to begin Dec. 18. Honda's number for this recall is S0G.

Daimler Vans USA LLC (DVUSA) is recalling two 2016 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 and 3500 vehicles. The label on the B-pillar may state a higher maximum vehicle load capacity than the vehicle is designed for. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification."DVUSA will notify owners, and dealers will check the label and replace it if necessary, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule.

GM Recalls 16 Vehicles

General Motors LLC is recalling 16 2015-2016 GMC Canyon and Chevrolet Colorado, and 2016 Chevrolet Volt vehicles. The driver's frontal air bag may improperly inflate during second-stage deployment in the event of a high-speed crash.GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver's frontal air bag module, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin Nov. 10. GM's number for this recall is 17387.

Tesla Recalls Model Xs for Seat Latches

Tesla Inc. is recalling 4,582 2016-2017 Model X vehicles. The left side, second row, reclining seat backs may not fully latch due to having incorrectly adjusted recliner mechanism cables. If the seat back moves forward in the event of a crash, it can increase the risk of injury.As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 207, "Seating Systems," and 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."Tesla will notify owners, and Tesla service technicians will correct the cable adjustment for the left-side, fold-flat, second row, seat recliner mechanism, free of charge. The recall was expected to begin in October.Tesla’s number for this recall is SB-17-13-004.

BMW Recalls Crossovers for Air Bags

BMW of North America LLC is recalling 85,302 2006-10 BMW X3 2.5i, X3 3.0i and X3 xDrive30i Sports Activity Vehicles. The front passenger seat occupant detection mat that determines if, and how, the passenger frontal air bag should deploy in a crash may fatigue and develop cracks which could lead to a system failure.Should the system fail, in the event of a crash, the front passenger air bag would be deactivated, increasing the risk of personal injury.BMW will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front passenger seat occupant detection mat, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin Nov. 20

Chrysler is recalling 646,394 2011-2014 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. The affected vehicles had brake booster shields installed under a previous recall campaign to prevent water from entering the brake booster and limiting braking ability. This recall is to verify that the brake booster shield installation was performed properly.Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the brake booster shield, correcting the installation as necessary, free of charge. Mazda Recalls Cars for Wiring Issues

Mazda North American Operations is recalling 57,878 2015-16 Mazda6 vehicles. Debris from the welding process during manufacturing of the front passenger seat frame may damage the occupant classification system (OCS) wiring.If the wiring becomes damaged, there may be a loss of power steering assist and the deactivation of the passenger air bag, increasing the risk of a crash and the risk of injury in the event of a crash.Mazda will notify owners, and dealers will attach a protective pad on the seat frame. If the OCS harness is damaged, insulating tape will be applied to the harness. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall is expected to begin Sept. 29. Mazda's number for this recall is 1517H.
