The Los Angeles Business Journal honored Edmunds, the leading car information and shopping platform, as one of the Best Places to Work in Los Angeles. The Santa Monica-based company officially placed 14th in the large company category (250+ employees), and the honor marks the eighth year in a row that Edmunds has been recognized by LABJ as a top workplace in Southern California. Edmunds recently celebrated the one-year anniversary of the opening of its corporate offices in Santa Monica, a 143,000-square-foot space located two miles from the beach. Employees enjoy amenities including free breakfasts and lunches, a frozen yogurt bar, a game room, on-site yoga and meditation, and bright, colorful, open workspaces and informal meeting places that encourage collaboration.

Attorney Tom Hudson of Hudson Cook LLC has been selected as the newest member of the National Independent Automobile Dealers Association’s Ring of Honor.Hudson became the 29th auto industry leader to be inducted into the Ring of Honor, NIADA’s highest award for non-dealers. NIADA’s Ring of Honor recognizes allied industry leaders who have contributed to the professionalism and growth of the automobile industry through outstanding performance and leadership. Hudson's career spans more than four decades, from a start-up law practice in 1973 to becoming a founding partner of a firm, a CEO and editor of a service that reports on legal issues in the auto finance and lease industry, among other roles.As an author, he's written the Carlaw series and other books as well as numerous articles and as editor in chief of Counselor Library.

KAR Auction Services Inc. was honored with two prestigious awards from United Way of Central Indiana. KAR Chairman and CEO Jim Hallett was named Exceptional Executive for 2017, and KAR was recognized with the Spirit United Award, the United Way’s highest corporate honor. The United Way of Central Indiana hosted its annual meeting on June 6, where supporters and contributors were recognized with individual and company awards. The Spirit United Award is United Way’s most prestigious company award and was given to four companies that have consistently supported and generously donated to the United Way of Central Indiana. The Exceptional Executive individual award is given to a business leader who has made a significant impact on the community. Each year, KAR participates in an annual United Way Giving Campaign, during which employees are encouraged to donate. KAR then matches all employee contributions dollar for dollar. Last year, KAR raised more than $240,000 through campaign activities.
