CarMax Names HR Exec Featured

CarMax Inc. announced the promotion of Diane Long Cafritz to the newly created position of chief human resources officer and senior vice president.
Cafritz will lead all human resources and loss prevention areas with the primary responsibility of leading CarMax’s strategy to attract, develop and retain talent to support the company’s business and its future growth.
Cafritz joined CarMax in 2003 as assistant general counsel, managing commercial and consumer litigation and has provided significant leadership within the company’s field operational leadership team. She was promoted to vice president in 2014.
Prior to joining CarMax, she was employed by McDermott, Will & Emery in Washington, D.C. in the litigation department.
She earned her B.A. in economics and international relations at Tufts University, and received her J.D. from the University of Virginia.

  • CarMax Pays Top Dollar at New Store

    CarMax Inc. is hiring to fill 50 positions for a new CarMax store in Colma, Calif., slated to open in November.
    Job applicants hired for the Colma location will be the recipients of special compensation incentives and sign-on bonuses – the largest in CarMax history for these positions.
    Entry-level associates are eligible for starting pay of up to $25 an hour. Additionally, all Colma associates will receive bonus compensation of $200 on every paycheck to help with cost of living expenses – a total of more than $5,000 every year.
    The associates will also receive a new store bonus awarded semi-annually during the first two years of employment totaling $2,000.
    Associates will receive the following sign-on bonuses for joining CarMax’s team:
    $3,000 - $7,500 for automotive technicians (based on experience level)
    $3,000 for sales consultants and service advisors
    $1,500 for reconditioning associates

  • CarMax Auctions Salute Customers

    CarMax Auctions started celebrating Customer Appreciation Month on Sept. 5 for CarMax Auctions registered dealers.
    CarMax Auctions customers will enjoy catered meals and giveaways at events held among CarMax’s 73 auction locations nationwide in September and October.
    CarMax’s largest West Coast auction facility opened earlier this year in Murrieta, Calif., and will be hosting its first ever customer appreciation event on Oct. 30. The facility is expecting more than 400 people in attendance.
