Auctions Raise Funds

Two auto auctions helped raise money during October’s Breast Cancer Awareness campaign. Louisiana’s 1st Choice Auto Auction raised $2,672 during Breast Cancer Awareness month for the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in Hammond, La.

Auction personnel presented the idea to management and everyone jumped on board to support the effort. Bake sales were held, bracelets and pins were sold, and dealers who donated earned John Dough (auction “money” that dealers use to bid on gifts at the Anniversary and Christmas sale). Employees wore special I wear pink for the cure shirts on sale days throughout the month.

On Oct. 29, Pittsburgh Auto Auction auctioned off a choice selection of vehicles donated by a group of their loyal consignors, with 100 percent of the proceeds donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation with a check in the amount of $13,130. In addition to the car donations by their very generous dealers, Pittsburgh matched the amount of donation proceeds to Susan G. Komen - Pittsburgh.
