Chrysler Recalls Minivans for Theft Potential

Chrysler is recalling 240,242 2017-18 Chrysler Pacifica vehicles.

The manual park release plug may be removed without a tool. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 114, "Theft Protection."

Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the plug, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin Aug. 3.

Chrysler's number for this recall is U50.
