Wholesale Prices Hit High Featured

By Staff Writer September 10, 2018

Wholesale used vehicle prices increased 2.01 percent month-over-month in August.

This brought the Manheim Used Vehicle Value Index to 139.7, a 6.4 percent increase from a year ago. It is the highest level for the Index over its more than 20-year history.

The Index adjusts prices for mix, mileage and seasonality.

As of Labor Day, 3-year-old vehicles are now worth 4.8 percent more than they would normally be worth had typical depreciation occurred instead of the appreciation observed this year.
