Laura Taylor, general manager of Charleston Auto Auction in South Carolina, took the gavel as the new president of the National Auto Auction Association.

Jared Kalfus of Black Book presented Taylor with the President’s ring and Taylor received the honorary gavel from Chad Bailey, her predecessor.
The new president said she was honored to serve as the association’s 68th president as the group enters its 72nd year.

She thanked her family, her industry colleagues and also praised her own auction team and the leadership of the XLerate Group.
“Our auto auctions do make a difference,” she said.

Taylor promised to continue the association’s focus on safety during her tenure.
Julie Picard, of Manheim Seattle, is the new president-elect and Charles Nichols of Bel Air Auto Auction is the new vice president.
