State Cites Dealership for Off-Site Sale Featured

By Staff Writer August 08, 2019

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) issued a special order to Kunes Country Ford Lincoln for improperly conducting an off-premise sale and failing to comply with several laws.

DMV’s Dealer and Agent Section sanctioned the Delavan dealership for failing to provide customers with a three-day right to cancel notice at an off-premise sale. While dealers may conduct up to six off-premise sales per year, special rules apply including offering customers a written notice of their right to cancel a purchase or lease within three days.

Other sanctions noted in the order include: failure to properly reassign the title for vehicles, incomplete purchase contracts and unlicensed salespersons.
