Black Book’s Used Vehicle Retention Index declined to 114.5 for February, from 115.4 in January.


The Index has fallen 1 percent over the last 12 months.


The overall index continued its decline for the third month in a row. All segments except for full-size van showed a decline this past month, with most luxury vehicle segments showing the largest declines.


In fact, segments such as midsize luxury CUV/SUVs and subcompact cars saw some of the largest single-month declines in over a year in the Index.

Black Book’s Used Vehicle Retention Index fell to 115.4 in January from116.3 in December.


The Index has now declined two months in a row.


 The Index decline was nearly across-the-board for most segments, with only compact and midsize cars showing modest gains.


There were a number of segments with declines of over 1 percent, including minivan, small pickup, midsize and full-size luxury CUV/SUV, sporty car, subcompact car, near luxury car, and compact crossover SUV.
