Floor Plan Pioneer Passes Away Featured

Floor plan pioneer John Fuller, founder of two of the largest inventory finance firms, died March 27.


An Indianapolis native, Fuller, 75, passed away in Pompano Beach, Fla. He founded both Automotive Finance Corp. and Dealer Services Corporation.


After selling his first company, AFC, Fuller started Dealer Services Corp. in 2005. He then sold that firm to Manheim. The merger resulted in a rebrand, and NextGear Capital launched in 2013.


Both NextGear Capital and AFC are headquartered in Carmel, Ind.


He is survived by his wife Barb as well as his first wife Sue and six children, in addition to 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
